Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PeopleSoft Technical Lead to join our dynamic IT team. This role is pivotal in leading the technical direction, administration, and evolution of our PeopleSoft ecosystem. The ideal candidate is a hands-on expert who will not only guide a team of developers but also take ownership of the system's health, performance, and modernization. A proven track record in leading at least 2-3 end-to-end PeopleSoft implementation and/or upgrades projects is essential, as is deep hands-on development and system administration experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Mentorship:

  • Lead, mentor, and coordinate the work of a team of PeopleSoft developers and analysts.
  • Design and enforce technical standards, best practices for coding, security, and performance.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure solution quality and alignment with architectural vision.
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex PeopleSoft issues.

System Administration & Ownership:

  • Administer PeopleSoft infrastructure: WebLogic, Tuxedo, Process Scheduler, Integration Broker, and database connectivity.
  • Manage PeopleSoft security (roles, permission lists, user profiles).
  • Monitor system performance, health, and capacity; recommend and implement optimizations.
  • Lead and execute critical technical activities like PUM image downloads, Change Assistant scripting, and applying patches/updates.
  • Coordinate patching and maintenance: Apply PRPs, CPU patches, and bundle updates with rollback planning and impact analysis.
  • Oversee environment provisioning: Clone environments, refresh databases, and manage domain configurations
  • Support SSO and security hardening: Integrate with SSO and MFA Solutions; manage certificates and encryption protocols.

PeopleTools Upgrades & Migrations:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert and project lead for PeopleTools and/or Application upgrades.
  • Plan, architect, and execute end-to-end upgrade projects from analysis and planning through development, testing, migration, and go-live.
  • Manage the technical migration of projects, customizations, and integrations between environments using tools like Change Assistant.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with upgrades and migrations.

Hands-on Development & Design:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality customizations using PeopleTools 8.5x/8.6x (Application Engine, Component Interface, Integration Broker, PeopleCode, Fluid UI, REST/SOAP APIs).
  • Architect and maintain integrations between PeopleSoft and third-party systems.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical designs and solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and functional issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of deep, hands-on technical experience with PeopleSoft HCM, FSCM, or Campus Solutions.
  • Proven Lead Experience: At least 2-3 years in a technical lead capacity, guiding a team.
  • Upgrade/Migration Expertise: Demonstrable experience leading at least 2-3 full lifecycle PeopleSoft implementation and/or PeopleTools upgrade projects. Must understand all phases from analysis to post-production support.
  • System Administration: Strong hands-on experience with PeopleSoft architecture, administration, and performance tuning.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in PeopleTools 8.5x/8.6x, Application Engine, PeopleCode, Component Interface, Integration Broker, and Fluid UI development.
  • Migration Tools: Practical experience with data and object migration tools (Change Assistant).
  • Database: Strong SQL skills on Oracle or SQL Server.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PeopleSoft Cloud Architecture (PCA) and PUM (PeopleSoft Update Manager) lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of Elastic Search, Kibana, OpenSearch, or PeopleSoft Selective Adoption process.
  • Relevant PeopleSoft certifications (PeopleTools, Administration).
