- Consulting Technical Manager – Data Architecture
2. Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of enterprise-grade data and database architectures
- Act as the technical authority for database platform and data architecture decisions
- Define database architecture standards, best practices, and reference architectures
- Design and lead database migration strategies, including homogeneous and heterogeneous migrations
- Own architectural decisions related to availability, performance, scalability, security, and recovery
- Design and validate HA/DR architectures aligned with business and SLA requirements
- Lead technical architecture discussions with customers and internal delivery teams
- Guide delivery teams during implementation, migration, and critical cutover phases
- Assess existing database environments and provide modernization and optimization recommendations
3. Basic Qualifications
- 8–10+ years of experience in database architecture, design, implementation, or consulting
- Proven experience owning database architecture decisions for enterprise and mission-critical systems
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database architectures
- Experience with data migration technologies and methodologies, including:
- RMAN
- Data Pump
- CDC-based migration approaches
- Experience with heterogeneous database migrations(e.g., MySQL, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL to Oracle Database)
- Solid experience in database performance diagnosis, architecture-level optimization,and SQL performance tuning
- Experience planning and executing database patching and major version upgrades
- Strong experience designing and implementing HA/DR architectures,including Active Data Guard
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify systemic design issues
4. Required Technical Skills
- Deep understanding of Oracle Database internals and architecture
- Architecture-level SQL and database performance analysis and tuning
- Experience designing and operating Oracle Exadata environments(on-premises or cloud-based)
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) database services,including:
- OCI Base Database Service
- OCI Exadata Database Service
- Autonomous Database (ATP / ADW)
- Experience designing hybrid and cloud-based database architectures(on-premises, Exadata, and OCI DB services)
- Ability to evaluate trade-offs between performance, availability, cost,and operational complexity
5. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Exadata migration or consolidation projects
- Experience with on-premises to OCI database migration and modernization initiatives
- Experience working in consulting or customer-facing roles
- Ability to clearly explain database architecture decisions to executives,IT management, and technical teams
- Experience collaborating with cloud, infrastructure, and application architects
- OCI or Oracle Database related certifications are a plus

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to deliver functional and technical solutions on non-routine and very complex aspects of applications and technology installations. Provides direction and mentoring to project teams, and effectively influences customer leadership on key decisions. Supports the business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain expertise. Resolves complex customer issues by recommending and implementing solutions. Demonstrates expertise in multiple business processes across two or more product families or ability to architect and design technology solutions encompassing multiple products and make decisions based on impact across the stack.
