Research Internship

As a technical intern, you'll be at the forefront of this transformation, shaping the future of AI at OHAI. Your expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI will be crucial in inventing innovative and disruptive technologies, laying the foundation for groundbreaking applications that will set new standards across the healthcare and related industries. You will work with a dynamic and highly qualified team of experts with deep knowledge in Generative AI and LLM technologies to tackle challenging problems with real-world impact.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and developing innovative AI models, algorithms and frameworks, with a strong publication track record in top conferences and journals.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning architectures, such as Transformers, training methodologies, and optimization techniques.
  • Strong familiarity with the latest advancements in Large Language Models (LLM) and generative AI, including but not limited to agent technology, memory, multimodality, reinforcement fine-tuning, pre-training, fine-tuning, alignment, reasoning, RAG, automated prompt/workflow optimisation, advanced prompt engineering, and their applications such as dialogue systems, information extraction, question answering, language generation/summarization.
  • Practical experience with emerging LLM frameworks and plugins such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, VectorStores, Retrievers, LLM Cache, and LMQL, showcasing your ability to stay at the forefront of AI technology.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare domain and experience in delivering AI models specifically for healthcare applications are highly desirable.

Education

Currently pursuing a PhD’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Linguistics) at an Australian university, with a dissertation focused on Generative AI, LLM, Machine Learning and Deep Learning.

  • Work closely with mentors and other team members to investigate cutting-edge research that contributes to OHAI’s vision and mission.
  • Develop advanced models and algorithms in the areas of ML, DL, NLP and CV that are relevant to our Generative AI projects.
  • Design and build analysis pipelines that encompasses requirements elicitation, data gathering, model development & evaluation.
  • Identify, define and implement appropriate evaluation metrics to measure and analyze, quantitatively and qualitatively, model performance.
  • Identify, curate and collect large and high-quality datasets for training and testing AI models.
  • Participate in the development of research ideas and paper writing.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations with evidence-based insights to support strategic decision-making.
