We are looking for a Software Engineer (IC-3) to join the Oracle LiveLabs team. In this role, you will implement and support software components for technical workshops and the platform that supports them. You will work as part of a team on infrastructure automation, Oracle APEX application development, Linux environments, and Oracle Database technologies.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with Terraform, is comfortable working in cloud-based Linux environments, and has working knowledge of Oracle Database and PL/SQL. Experience with cloud infrastructure concepts from any major cloud provider is acceptable. Training will be provided on Oracle-specific services as needed.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Typically 5–7 years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or cloud infrastructure roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Working proficiency with Oracle Database and PL/SQL. Oracle 19c or later is preferred.
  • Working proficiency in Linux or Unix environments and shell scripting.
  • Experience using Git or similar version control systems.
  • Familiarity with core services from at least one major cloud provider, including compute, networking, storage, identity, and managed databases.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a practical approach to problem solving.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing applications using Oracle APEX.
  • Experience deploying and managing infrastructure on any major cloud platform.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and automation pipelines.
  • Experience building or supporting technical workshops or lab environments.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is a plus, but not required.
  • Oracle certifications are a plus.

Oracle LiveLabs is Oracle’s hands-on learning platform. It enables customers, partners, and internal teams to explore Oracle technologies through guided workshops and real cloud environments. LiveLabs supports global events, roadshows, training programs, and self-service learning by delivering scalable, automated workshop environments. The LiveLabs team builds and maintains the platform, automation, and tooling that support these workshops and ensure a consistent hands-on experience for users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and support technical workshops on the Oracle LiveLabs platform using Terraform and cloud infrastructure services.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure automation using established modules and patterns for provisioning and managing workshop environments.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Oracle LiveLabs application, built using Oracle APEX, by implementing features and fixes related to workshop lifecycle management and user interaction.
  • Support backend application logic using PL/SQL, including database objects and jobs required for platform functionality.
  • Support development and troubleshooting activities in Linux-based environments.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver workshops, documentation, and platform enhancements aligned with cloud best practices.
  • Review and update existing workshops to ensure reliability and compatibility with evolving cloud services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation failures, infrastructure provisioning, database configuration, and application behavior.
  • Contribute to internal tools, frameworks, and best practices that improve platform reliability and maintainability.
