Career Level - IC3

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and support OCI networking: VCNs, subnets, routing tables, security lists/NSGs, DRG, LPG, internet/NAT/service gateways, Load Balancing, WAF, DNS, Network Firewall, VPN/IPSec, FastConnect.
  • Troubleshoot end-to-end connectivity (underlay/overlay), performance, and security issues across multi-VCN, multi-region, and hybrid environments.
  • Lead incident response and problem management: triage, root cause analysis, post‑postmortems, and preventive actions; develop and maintain runbooks and KB articles.
  • Implement changes safely: maintenance planning, MOPs, change approvals, rollback validation; uphold compliance and security standards.
  • Automate operational tasks: IaC (Terraform/Resource Manager), Python/Ansible for config, validation, and remediation; integrate with CI/CD where applicable.
  • Monitor and optimize: use OCI Monitoring, Logging, Alarms, Flow Logs, Health Checks; dashboards, alerts, and capacity plans.
  • Apply AI/ML tooling (where approved) to accelerate incident pattern detection, anomaly correlation, log analysis, and self-healing workflows; measure impact and iterate.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders: customers, product/engineering, security, and vendor support; represent networking in cross-domain designs and reviews.
  • Mentor and upskill team members; participate in on-call rotation and provide escalation leadership.
  • Participate in a rotational roster/schedule; provide support and coordination across global time zones.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years in network engineering/support roles with strong hands-on troubleshooting and operations.
  • Deep knowledge of core networking concepts: TCP/IP, routing (BGP/OSPF), switching/VLANs/VXLAN, NAT, ACLs/NSGs, VPN/IPSec, QoS, load balancing, DNS, DHCP.
  • Load balancers: strong hands-on with L4/L7 concepts (TLS termination, health checks, persistence, WAF integration), troubleshooting, and HA design.
