The defect management application you will work on is the “hub” that ties findings, ownership, remediation status, and audit history together—turning static analysis output into actionable work that teams can reliably close.

About You:

- You are an experienced engineer who enjoys building reliable web applications end-to-end, from backend services to front-end UI
- You care about maintainable APIs, clear domain models, and integrations that are resilient to real-world enterprise constraints
- You are comfortable working across application development and “dev operations” when it improves developer productivity
- You communicate clearly, write strong design docs, and are disciplined about quality, security, and observability
- You are eligible to work in Australia without sponsorship

Desired Criteria:

- BS, MS, or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years building production-grade Java services; strong experience with Spring
- 5+ years experience building and maintaining front-end UIs using modern JavaScript (and ideally a contemporary framework)
- Experience designing and evolving RESTful APIs, including versioning and backwards compatibility for multiple consumers and code lines
- Familiarity with web UI concerns such as accessibility, performance, browser compatibility, and secure-by-default patterns
- Familiarity with enterprise systems such as bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira), code review systems (e.g., GitLab), corporate authentication/authorization systems (SSO, OAuth2/OIDC, SAML)
- Familiarity with integrating with LLM providers, including prompt design, tool/function calling patterns, and structured outputs
- Comfort operating services in CI/CD environments; experience with Jenkins pipelines is a plus
- Experience improving automation for releases, regression runs, and machine configuration (e.g., Bash/Python/Ansible or similar)
- Strong testing discipline (unit/integration), performance awareness, and production troubleshooting skills

We are seeking for a Senior Software Engineer to build and evolve a web-based Java application that is central to managing security defect findings from our Static Application Security Testing (SAST) tooling. The application consists of a Java/Spring backend and a JavaScript-based frontend UI. The defect manager tool integrates the platform into day-to-day engineering systems—bug tracking, code review, identity and access management, and source control so security issues can be discovered, triaged, fixed, and verified quickly at scale.

- Design, build, and maintain a Spring-based web application and JavaScript front-end UI for managing SAST defect findings across multiple code lines
- Implement workflows that support triage, ownership, remediation, verification, and audit history of security defects
- Improve the front-end user experience for defect triage and remediation workflows, ensuring responsive, usable, and maintainable UI
- Integrate the platform with enterprise engineering systems: Bug tracking, code review systems, corporate authentication and authorization services, version control systems
- Improve the reliability and operability of the platform with robust logging, metrics, alerting, and performance monitoring
