• 15+ years of experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.
• Experience designing or operating Tier-0 or mission-critical services, with stringent SLAs for availability, latency, and durability.
• Proven experience in Java or C++ languages.

• Knowledge of Linux kernel and Ethernet/IP/TCP/HTTP protocols.
• Strong understanding of system performance and hardware acceleration

As a technical leader you will own the software design and development for major components and features of the Object Storage Service. You should be both a rock-solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You will be expected to define software architecture with performance in mind as well as Operational Excellence. Ideally, you have a background in designing and implementing large scale Cloud Services, where you have built highly efficient software stacks in Java or C++. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.
