As part of the Data Center Delivery Engineering organization at OCI, our team is responsible for building software services and tools to accelerate the process by which OCI grows its compute and network capacity—including critical scaling initiatives like the Stargate Project. The service will address all aspects of the Data Center and its Physical Assets lifecycle, from planning and design, to delivery and, eventually, decommissioning.
Our goal is to scale up the process to meet high capacity demands from our large and hyperscale customers. As a Senior Software Engineer (IC3), you will take ownership of designing, developing, and debugging software applications and highly reliable microservices. From a technology perspective, this is a greenfield development environment with a huge amount of autonomy, allowing you to build and innovate freely while integrating with existing systems through well-established contracts.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,200 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

- Software Development: Design, implement, and operate scalable, reliable, and performant distributed systems and cloud services.
- End-to-End Ownership: Take ownership of specific software components through the entire product life cycle, from ground-up development to deployment, operation, and maintenance.
- Operational Excellence: Balance speed and quality with iterative and incremental improvements. Instill a culture of proactivity and operational excellence within the engineering team.
- Collaboration & Integration: Work independently on complex tasks while collaborating closely with your team to integrate smoothly with existing data center workflows and external partner services.
- Technical Contributions: Participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and help mentor junior developers.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience.
- Proficient in high-level programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or C++.
- Experienced with microservice design patterns, service-to-service communication protocols, and developing highly reliable services.
- Strong experience in distributed systems with a keen eye for reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Ability to deliver products from the ground up, navigating the full software development lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior hands-on experience developing cloud services and tools on Oracle Cloud, AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Master's degree in Computer Science.
