This is a senior leadership role that requires strong technical depth, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to lead teams through growth, complexity, and fast-paced execution. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead a growing team within our Data Center Design organization. This leader will be responsible for setting the direction for electrical engineering design, developing scalable standards and processes, and ensuring the successful delivery of electrical infrastructure solutions across OCI’s rapidly expanding data center portfolio. Travel 25% and at times more, is required.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $139,400 to $291,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position.   • Lead and develop a team of electrical engineers supporting OCI’s data center design initiatives.
  • Provide technical and organizational leadership for the design, review, and continuous improvement of mission-critical electrical systems supporting OCI data centers.
  • Establish and drive engineering standards, design guidelines, and best practices that improve consistency, quality, scalability, and execution across a growing portfolio.
  • Establish team norms and leadership expectations that reinforce individual and collective ownership, disciplined execution, and a bias for resolving issues rather than escalating them without recommendations.
  • Partner closely with Design Management, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, Supply Chain, and other partner teams to ensure alignment across the full project lifecycle.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex electrical engineering issues, design tradeoffs, risk evaluations, and technical decision-making.
  • Drive lessons learned and continuous improvement efforts by incorporating operational feedback, project outcomes, and field experience into future standards and designs.
  • Represent the electrical engineering function in leadership reviews, cross-organizational discussions, and strategic planning efforts.
  • Build organizational capability through hiring, team development, talent planning, and creation of scalable engineering processes and workflows.

Travel 25% and at times more, is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
  • 6+ years of experience leading engineering teams, or technical lead experience with experience managing other managers or leads.
  • Deep knowledge of electrical systems used in mission-critical facilities, including medium- and low-voltage distribution, standby generation, UPS systems, switchgear, PDUs, grounding, and associated infrastructure.
  • Experience in a hyperscale cloud, colocation, or large-scale mission-critical infrastructure environment.
  • Familiarity with power requirements for high-density compute environments and the interaction between electrical and cooling infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical reviews, driving engineering quality, and making sound decisions on complex electrical design issues.
  • Strong understanding of the data center project lifecycle, including planning, design, construction, commissioning, and operational considerations.
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing decisions across multiple organizations.

  • Experience developing and implementing engineering standards, design guidelines, and scalable processes across a global portfolio.
  • Experience managing external design consultants and engineering service providers.
  • Experience supporting organizational growth through hiring, team development, and talent planning.
  • Strong understanding of reliability, maintainability, power quality, and operational risk considerations for critical infrastructure systems.
  • Experience presenting technical strategies, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
