Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill three part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) InfoSec Policy Analyst (Student) for the JIS Univ Info &Tech at Oregon State University (OSU).

(75%) Assist the OSU Governance, Risk, and Compliance Manager and the Vulnerability and Compliance Analyst in performing tasks related to security governance, risk management, and compliance. Major functional areas include formal GRC tasks, vendor management, outreach and awareness, and system documentation..
(15%) Assist in the conduct of stakeholder outreach and coordination of information security policies with the OSU Community.
(10%) Participate in job/role-based training and experiential opportunities to improve skills and gain experience.

Position Duties
(75%) Assist the OSU Governance, Risk, and Compliance Manager and the Vulnerability and Compliance Analyst in performing tasks related to security governance, risk management, and compliance.
- Perform functions focusing upon one or more of the following functional areas: formal GRC, vendor management, outreach and awareness, and system documentation
(15%) Assist in the conduct of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) stakeholder support for information security policies with the OSU Community.
(10%) Participate in job/role-based training and experiential opportunities to improve skills and gain experience.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications
Ability to complete CompTIA Security+ certification within 12 months of starting employment
Ability to work effectively in support of a team
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Comfort with technology
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and other tools used at OSU
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
The student worker may be required to work up to an approximate 24 hours per week.
