| Position Summary | This recruitment will be used to fill four part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Craft Center Sewing Instructor and Techs for the Craft Center at Oregon State University (OSU). The OSU Craft Center is a warm & welcoming place that supports and promotes creative endeavors in the arts by providing a dynamic environment, resources and programs in which people can foster their own creativity. The Craft Center provides a space for students to socialize, unwind, think creatively and learn in a noncompetitive environment. It also gives support to other departments by providing programs, space and equipment as needed. The OSU Craft Center is seeking a knowledgeable and reliable Sewing Tech and Instructor to join our team at the Craft Center. This part-time position (6-10 hours per week) supports students in developing machine and hand sewing skills, maintains a welcoming and inclusive studio environment, and leads orientations each term. The ideal candidate is passionate about sewing, enjoys helping others learn, and can troubleshoot equipment with confidence (or is open to learning). This position is responsible for keeping the studio organized and clean, keeping the studio stocked and ready for student use, and organizing donation materials. |
