Our Role:

We are looking for a resourceful, intellectually curious individual with great judgment to join our HR/People team. In this role, you will work closely with our People Business Leaders (PBLs) to help provide HR support to the business and will also perform some administrative duties like scheduling and arranging travel for the senior PBLs. The administrative portion of the role will be approximately 30%, while the HR responsibilities will fill the other 70%. Over time the administrative component will decrease. The successful candidate will gain experience in all HR related disciplines, including but not limited to, compensation, recruiting and onboarding, policy guidance, talent management, employee relations, data analytics, organizational development and restructuring, training, and performance management.

This role is primarily based in our offices in Newark, NJ and currently follows a hybrid schedule with three days in office and two days virtually. The opportunity for limited travel exists as well.

What you will do:

  • Support the recruiting process through communication with hiring managers and potential candidates, management of job descriptions, creation of Workday positions and initiation of job requisitions.

  • Assist with the annual compensation and performance management process.

  • Research and interpret HR policies and procedures and respond to day-to-day inquiries from employees.

  • Provide and analyze data for workforce planning initiatives, finance, RFPs, and other requests as needed.

  • Manage the onboarding and exit process for employees, conducting exit interviews and analyzing exit trends.

  • Help research various training options.

  • Manage our new hire partner process.

  • Contribute to team projects and assist teammates with various ad-hoc requests as workloads dictate.

  • Perform limited administrative duties including but not limited to meeting scheduling, expense reports, travel arrangements, records management, drafting promotion letters, ordering supplies, etc.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or a related field preferred.

  • 1-3 years in a Human Resources Process/Operations role, with experience in the financial services industry preferred; Recent or soon to be college graduates will also be considered.

  • Strong attention to detail, proven organizational skills, and ability to see the big picture.

  • Ability to take direction from and provide support to multiple constituents simultaneously.

  • Develop and sustain positive working relationships, work independently as well as in a team, and influence others across the global People Team.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, follow-through, drive for results and initiative with the ability to bring issues to closure.

  • Excellent work ethic with the flexibility to work beyond standard hours as needed.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Note: Prudential is required by state-specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $65,000 to $70,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. This role is also eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits including a competitive discretionary annual cash bonus opportunity. Eligibility to participate in the discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
