About the job:
The Red Hat IT Training team is looking for a Principal Business Systems Analyst. In this role, you will serve as a key member of the IT Training and Certification Platforms team working on Red Hat Training’s eCommerce and Learning Portals. You will analyze complex issues and work with business stakeholders to develop technical requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an enterprise organization utilizing Agile/Scrum methodology via Jira. Relationship building is crucial for this role and you will need to be comfortable working independently to ensure the business feels they are heard. Remote candidates with required skills and demonstrated success working independently will be considered.
What you will do?
Meet regularly with key business stakeholders, assisting them with translating requirements into technical solutions and advising them on trade-offs and long-term impacts of requirements/enhancement requests.
Work with the vendor to manage application enhancements, resolve technical issues, and align priorities with business objectives.
Configure system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration, end-to-end and acceptance testing in conjunction with QA Engineers to meet business requirements.
Identify gaps and provide technical expertise in business requirements for system functional specifications and scale new and current systems, processes, and procedures in a cost-effective manner.
Manage several application requirements and various prioritization requests from multiple stakeholders.
Lead cross-portfolio initiatives to align business, technology, and data strategy with enterprise goals.
Mentor junior analysts and team members, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
Develop documentation including business requirement docs, statements of work, Jira cards, flow charts, slide decks, and other visuals.
Review business processes and research new IT advancements to make systems more modern.
Identify and evaluate AI/automation opportunities within business processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience.
Develop a deep understanding of products and vision to help guide technical development.
What you will bring?
7+years experience working as business systems analyst in full project management lifecycles for software development, implementation, and maintenance projects.
3+ years experience defining and maintaining business/technical strategies and roadmaps.
2+years experience acting in a leadership role and mentoring junior associates.
Demonstrated success in learning new technologies and influencing the technical direction of products.
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
Ability to manage multiple application requirements for multiple platforms simultaneously, prioritizing work across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Experience working on agile development teams (Scrum, Kanban).
Experience with source code control platforms, preferably Git.
Experience using Jira or similar project management tools.
Relevant certifications, such as PMP or Six Sigma, are a plus.
