Job Summary
The Red Hat Lightspeed Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will use your software development expertise to contribute to Security and Operations services on console.redhat.com.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a distributed engineering team to ensure Red Hat solutions reach customers in a timely fashion with excellent quality. You will take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of the application, playing a key role in building services that operate at scale.
What you will do
Design, implement, and deliver new features while coordinating contributions with other developers on the team.
Test features, fix bugs, and implement automation to ensure smooth end-to-end delivery of the application.
Contribute to technical projects by fixing defects, reviewing pull requests, and writing unit, integration, and automated tests.
Collaborate with a globally distributed development team and provide mentorship to junior developers.
Demo developed features and updates to all relevant stakeholders.
Participate in AI-assisted code reviews, utilizing tools that provide real-time feedback to identify potential bugs and security vulnerabilities, ensuring adherence to coding standards and a more efficient review process.
What you will bring
5+ years of object-oriented development experience.
Proficient programming skills in Ruby.
Experience designing and using REST APIs.
Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL.
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
The following is considered a plus
Degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
Prior exposure to container-based application development at scale.
Experience or interest in frontend development using React.
