About the Job:
The Red Hat Lightspeed Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will use your software development expertise to contribute to Security and Operations services on console.redhat.com. As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a distributed engineering team to ensure Red Hat solutions reach customers in a timely fashion with excellent quality.
What you will do?

End to end delivery of the application:
Design, implement and deliver new features, including coordinating contributions with other developers in the team
Testing of features and bug fixing, including implementation of automation.
Technical project contribution by fixing defects, reviewing pull requests, and writing unit / integration test cases and automated tests
Collaborate with a globally distributed development team, including mentoring junior developers
Demo the developed features with all stakeholders
Participate in AI-assisted code reviews, utilizing tools that provide real-time feedback, identify potential bugs, security vulnerabilities, and adherence to coding standards, contributing to a more thorough and efficient review process.

What you will bring?
Degree in computer science or equivalent experience
2+ years of object-oriented development experience
Excellent English communication (written and verbal)
Programming experience in Golang/ Node.js
Experience using REST APIs
Experience with relational databases like Postgres
The following are considered a plus:
Linux/Git: Experience designing solutions on Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, or Fedora) and developing with Git.
Data & Architecture: Expertise with message queues (e.g., Kafka) and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, structured logging).
Security & Testing: Familiarity with writing and running various tests (unit, integration, E2E), testing frameworks (e.g., Pytest), and security concepts (YARA rules/malware analysis).
Development: Experience in open source development, CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions), and collaborating remotely.
Emerging Tech: Experience integrating AI/ML via LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Google Vertex AI). Red Hat certifications.
