Role Summary
The role will focus on enhancing the execution efficiency of Petra Ai (developed by Rivian) for line side quality assurance, cycle time tracking, and process efficiency improvements. This role involves optimizing system performance across Rivian AI and AI runtimes through advanced profiling, algorithmic improvements, pipeline optimization, and hardware-software co-optimization.
Responsibilities
- CI/CD & release automation – Design versioned Helm charts and pipelines that push containerized CV models to >500 edge endpoints.
- Infrastructure as Code – Author Terraform modules for VPCs, EKS, ECR, FSx, on-prem Rancher clusters, and NVIDIA DGX-based inference nodes.
- Observability & SRE – Own Grafana dashboards, Loki/Promtail logs, distributed tracing with OpenTelemetry, and alerting policies in PagerDuty.
- Security & compliance – Enforce CIS Benchmarks, manage secrets with Vault, and pass annual SOC 2 audits.
- Cost governance – Build cost‐allocation tags and Spot/Flex savings plans.
Qualifications
- 7 + years in DevOps/SRE for mission-critical software; 3 + years on ML or high-throughput data platforms.
- Deep fluency in Kubernetes, container runtime internals, and GPU scheduling.
- Scripting/automation in Python/Bash; proficiency with GitOps workflows.
- Strong networking (L3-L7), security (SSL/TLS, IAM), and storage concepts (Ceph, EBS, EFS) preferred.
- Experience managing edge fleets (NVIDIA Jetson, ONNX Runtime, Triton servers).
- Knowledge of automotive production or other regulated, high-volume manufacturing.
- Certifications: CKAD/CKA, AWS DevOps Pro, HashiCorp Terraform.
Pay Disclosure
Salary Range for Illinois Based Applicants: $136,000-$170,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
