Role Summary

The Sr. Inventory Analyst (IA), Service Parts is responsible for developing and managing inventory processes and settings to ensure inventory optimization across the network. This position will be responsible for leading Continuous Improvement activities with a focus on achieving healthy inventory levels to meet company target and support our customers. The IA will support stakeholders with SKU rationalization and improving inventory health through the network while focusing on cross-functional collaboration with other departments. Position will use their experience to develop department KPI’s and lead monthly deep dive analysis to understand risk and opportunities to organizational inventory targets.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to achieve company target and inventory optimization across the network.
  • Develop and implement machining learning and AI functionality to drive Root Cause Corrective Action for inventory gaps to metrics.
  • Identify high impact opportunities to optimize inventory while ensuring we are supporting the needs of our customers
  • Lead systemic inventory improvement and enhancement efforts in within our advanced planning tool Servigistics
  • Drive key KPI improvement activities (increasing inventory turns, while reducing excess and obsolescence) while improving customer service levels

Inventory Management & Reporting

  • Monitor and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly inventory levels across all locations.
  • Develop and maintain inventory dashboards, KPIs, and exception reports
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies between systems (e.g., SAP, WMS, SOS, PTC).

Demand & Supply Analysis

  • Assist in forecasting accuracy tracking and diagnostics (MAPE, Bias, etc.)
  • Analyze replenishment patterns and support parameter tuning (e.g., reorder points, safety stock).
  • Accumulate, clean, and analyze data from different sources, conduct analysis, present insights and enable leaders in decision making
  • Identify process and performance gaps to critical metrics and KPIs and continuously work towards process, systems, and data improvements

SKU Rationalization & Portfolio Health

  • Conduct ABC classification, velocity, and contribution analysis.
  • Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or redundant inventory for scrap.
  • Support lifecycle planning (new item introductions, end-of-life transitions).

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with all planning functions, Logistics, and Finance on root cause analysis of inventory issues.
  • Support S&OP and supply review meetings with inventory insights and visuals.

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate or improve current inventory processes.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory management tasks

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Automotive, Tier 1, OEM, or technical field with emphasis in inventory planning/supply planning
  • MS or MBA in Data Analytics, Supply Chain or related field required
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in the following tools: SQL, business stakeholders and technical teams, including data engineers, analysts, and data scientists. Advanced Excel, Python, dashboard and presentation development
  • Proven analytical skills with a deep understanding of inventory planning, and overall supply chain operational process that may impact inventory
  • Thorough collaborator, with willingness to drive change
  • Experience inventory planning within an ERP (SAP preferred)
  • Service Part Inventory Planning a plus
  • Ability to stand or sit for 8-10 hours per day
  • Required to communicate using telephone and/or e-mail
  • Ability to view, reach, and interpret documents
  • Ability to perform all duties in an office environment that may contain ambient noise and temperature fluctuations

Pay Disclosure

  • Salary Rate for California Based Applicants: $107,000 to $134,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
  • Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment.
