Role Summary

As a Sr. Service Engineer, Drive Unit, the majority of your day determining serviceability and advocating for increased serviceability on future models in a collaborative environment.This collaboration will drive serviceability improvements that make the model easier or less expensive to service, providing tangible impact to both the customer as well as the company.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of serviceability requirements for drive units.
  • Incorporate serviceability requirements into the vehicle development process.
  • Develop service strategy for the drive unit and its components and determine service level for drive unit components and work cross-functionally to ensure service readiness is guaranteed at vehicle launch.
  • Be the voice of the customer and technician as you push for better serviceability on future products.
  • Identify cases where service tools are needed and work to resolve tooling needs with relevant teams.
  • Quickly identify and resolve field concerns related to serviceability to ensure a better service experience for our customers.

Qualifications

  • BS in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Five years’ electric propulsion experience in the automotive or comparable industry
  • Experience developing or servicing automotive electrical hardware is strongly preferred
  • Ability to work with various interpersonal and communication styles, to effectively define and resolve issues with cross-functional teams in a technology-focused environment
  • Experience in program or project management,or a proven track record of exemplary organization, is preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
  • Occasional travel will be required.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $107,800 to $134,800 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Full Time Employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment. Part-Time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment."
