Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluates complex business problems and works with functional experts to gather comprehensive process and system requirements to meet business needs. Assists in developing and enhancing new and existing benchmarking and spend analytic tools
- Reviews and examines existing work/data flows and internal control requirements. Designs, develops, implements, and maintains technical applications to support optimal processes. Recommends process changes that support efficiency, expediency, and business value
- Participates in the development, testing, migration, and implementation of new functionality, processes, and reports
- Researches and evaluates emerging marketplace technologies. Maintains department-wide technology implementation projects
- Ensures availability of comprehensive documentation for developed and/or deployed system functionality. Ensures procedural documents accurately reflect business processes and technical components
- Analyzes large and complex data sets to support data driven decision making
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of financial applications or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Knowledge of business process management and continuous improvement principles and tools
- Sill in business analysis techniques
- Skill in problem solving, analysis, and troubleshooting
- Ability to apply newly acquired technical expertise to existing business problems
- Ability to establish productive and professional relationships with IT staff, business partners, and management
Minimum Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 5 years of related experience
- Equivalent combination of experience & education may be considered

Specialized Contributor Level 3 - A senior-level role requiring broad understanding of the profession or field of work. Independently leads diverse and often complex assignments, projects, or programs. May act as a mentor and guide less experienced staff.
The Core Accounting Sr. Business Systems Analyst supports the Controller’s Office (CTO) at RIT with deep expertise in Workday and accounting operations. This role, will lead the design, configuration, and support of scalable solutions across Accounting, Assets, Banking, and Endowment functions.
The Core Accounting Sr. BSA will work with stakeholders to translate business needs into clear system requirements, drive continuous process improvements, and strengthen operational efficiency across the organization. Responsibilities include managing system configurations, leading testing and deployment activities, supporting major implementations, and ensuring robust data governance, controls, and security.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on Workday experience, strong knowledge of fund accounting and GAAP, and a solid background in finance operations, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.
