Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse within the Office of Human Research Services at the Rutgers Cancer Institute.

The Advanced Practice Nurse will serve as an expert clinical practitioner and member of the research team for the Office of Human Research Services (OHRS). This position will provide research support, clinical trial management and clinical care, consultation, education and patient care management and expertise.

Advanced nursing practice is the utilization of professional nursing knowledge. Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) function as advanced practice professionals in expanded roles. This requires collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to provide for assessment and therapeutic management of patient/family needs. Care is provided to oncology patients in the ambulatory and hospital settings (pending privileging process). The Advanced Practice Nurse will work within a multidisciplinary unit that is designed to meet the needs of specialized cancer populations, i.e., disease- specific settings. The major responsibilities include expanded patient assessment, triage, coordination and documentation of care to a specified group of adult patients older than 18 years of age. This includes care of adults at various developmental stages including geriatrics.
