ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The Content and Digital Experiences’ Organization is part of Marketing, and our mission is to bring together applications, data, and AI, to position SAP to lead companies into a future powered by intelligent, autonomous systems.
As part of the Global Marketing organization, Content and Digital Experiences’ role is to increase net-new customer acquisition, cross-sell and upsell of our install base through:
- Connected content journeys that support customers’ jobs-to-be-done.
- Digital-first experiences for self-service discovery.
- Seamless, no-touch purchase of our cloud portfolio and ecosystem.
As a skilled Software Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining GenAI solutions, leveraging the latest technologies and tools such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAGe) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
You will be part of a cross-functional team that develops AI use cases, from creating Agentic functions, connecting them to APIs, creating RAG databases etc., to maintaining and expanding existing Ai solutions already in place.
The tasks you will perform may vary from developing cloud applications in Python / Javascript, to deploying it using CI/CD tools, to create embeddings in a Database and deploying SAP Joule functions using YAML.
Your role will also involve ensuring the integration and deployment of these software products within our cloud infrastructure: this involves collaborating with SAP IT, to ensure these AI functionalities are deployed in compliance with SAP’s guidelines.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS:
- Create and sustain GenAI digital assistants using LLMs and RAGe.
- Focus on scalability, reliability, and performance of digital assistant applications.
- Implement automated deployment and monitoring processes for digital assistants using CI/CD tools, preferably Jenkins.
- Enhance digital assistant workflows to improve efficiency and user experience, utilizing Handlebars and SpEL for dynamic content rendering and prompt engineering techniques for better responses.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in AI, LLMs, and software development.
- Integrate digital assistants with cloud platforms.
- Work with data platforms such as Databricks, ADLS, and Apache Spark for efficient data management and processing.
- Use YAML for effective configuration management of digital assistant applications.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Working experience in the area is a plus; but must not exceed 2 years of experience
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python / Javascript and extensive experience in software engineering.
- Expertise with CI/CD tools, preferably Jenkins.
- Experience in cloud development, with a preference for SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
- Skills in Handlebars and Spring Expression Language (SpEL).
- Experience in prompt engineering with large language models (LLMs).
- Strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, with proficiency in YAML for configuration management.
