What you’ll do:

Position title: SAP iXp Intern –Software Developer

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Expected Start Date: July/ August 2025

Contract Duration: 8-months

Work Hours: 40-hours per week

As a Software Intern with SAP Ariba Supplier Management team, you can accelerate the innovation and delivery of the next generation of Ariba cloud experience. Our solutions touch all the participants of the largest Business Network running over 1.7 trillion of collaborative commerce. SAP Ariba Applications provide critical business processes involving thousands of buying organization, millions of sellers across the globe, and several millions of users.

  • Assist in developing critical deliverables for migrating Subscription Management (SM) to SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
  • Help design and prototype APIs that support various Subscription Management functionalities.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of solutions in a large-scale, multitenant OnDemand environment.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers in the core Ariba cloud engineering team, gaining insights into cloud development best practices and enterprise software delivery.
  • Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and contribute to high-quality software engineering practices.

What you bring:

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

  • Education: Currently pursuing or completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or equivalent are
  • Internship Eligibilty: Must be currrently enrolled, or recently graduated (start date must be within 6 months of graduation date) from a coding academy/bootcamp, apprenticeship, associate, bachelor’s, master’s or JD/PhD program.
  • Strong programming skills, as well as the ability to read and code review complex code bases written by others
  • Excellent coding skills in object-oriented languages like Java
  • Good Database concepts and experience with at least 1 database technology (i.e., SQL or NoSQL)
  • Ability to design and develop REST APIs for application teams to use
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms and interest in technologies like SAP BTP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a collaborative environment.
  • Interest in API design, SaaS systems, and scalable cloud architecture.

Nice to Have (but Not Required)

  • Exposure to RESTful APIs, microservices, or containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines or DevOps tools.

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 15 - 62 (USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
