SAP recently decided to combine and harmonize all SAP Sovereign Cloud offerings, establishing an end-to-end process for the Public Sector and regulated industries. The newly created Global Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations business unit is part of SAP Product Engineering with responsibility across the relevant Sovereign Cloud portfolio of SAP. Global Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations is collaborating closely with all Board areas to establish a harmonized, scalable, and consistent offering with transparent and standardized deliverables.
What you’ll do
We are looking for Senior DevOps Engineer with strong SAP Basis and Database expertise who will manage the daily cloud operations of our Sovereign Cloud landscape. You will work across the Service Delivery Lifecycle to analyze, design, build, test, implement and/or maintain multiple SAP S4/HANA and SAP IBP system components or applications. You should have strong technical knowledge of SAP systems and databases. Additional responsibilities include managing periodic maintenance activities, refreshes, patching, and upgrades.
The role includes the following tasks:
- Design, implement, monitor, maintain and optimize SAP S/4HANA systems for SAP Sovereign Cloud.
- Setup of a multi-system landscape architecture and integration aspects between heterogeneous system technologies.
- Life cycle management activities like Hotfixes, Upgrades, EPs.
- Provision, monitor and operate cloud services meeting SLAs and KPIs.
- Analyse, troubleshoot and solve operational issues, and respond to incidents.
- Work with complex systems administration, database administration, and landscape maintenance.
- Maintaining the integrity and security of servers and systems.
- Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement continuous improvements.
- Partner with product development team to design and enhance the services.
- Work in a diverse environment and cross-train with other global team members.
- Provide on-call support for incidents and performance degradations.
- Flexible schedule which may include weekend or after business hours work.
- Commitment to maintaining office presence for efficient team collaboration.
What you bring
- Overall 8+ years of SAP experience with at least 2 years focus on SAP S/4HANA.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in implementation, upgrade and support of SAP S/4HANA systems.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in an appropriate field.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and comprehensive and conclusive root cause analysis.
- Experience in implementation, upgrade and support of the latest SAP systems versions, running on Windows/Linux OS and HANA, etc.
- Good knowledge of hyperscalers like AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Experienced in building and/or planning and testing of the DR.
- Security-first mindset, and familiar with Cycbersecurity, Governance, Risks and Compliance.
- Knowledge of Cloud Computing, Databases, Web services, networking, virtualization, and internet protocols.
- Ability to multitask and handle various projects, deadlines and changing priorities
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and customer service skills
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 environment with on-call duties.
- Commitment to maintaining office presence for efficient team collaboration.
- Must be an Indian citizen and willing to undergo a security clearance process
Optional
- Experience with Terraform and Ansible.

SAP Sovereign Cloud Delivery India unit will be providing the SAP’s Sovereign Cloud Services in India, working on the cloud landscape architecture design, build, maintain and operate, to deliver a stable, secure and resilient cloud services, fully compliant to the local laws, regulations and the unique security, secrecy and digital sovereignty requirements of India. The team will be collaborating closely with central Architecture team, Security Office, Engineering teams and with Regulatory and Governance teams in India
