What you’ll build:
Summary:
IronCore is SAP’s next-generation open-source cloud infrastructure based on Kubernetes. We manage physical servers, storage, and network infrastructure with Kubernetes controllers - providing a modern cloud platform to SAP developers and customers. IronCore uses a Software-Defined-Everything approach and hardware offloading to deliver a flexible, high-performance base layer for application deployments.
The Role:
As a Senior Developer (f/m/d) focused on network-fabric automation, you’ll design and build Kubernetes-native abstractions and controllers that unify control of multi-vendor network fabric and physical networks. You’ll help create a scalable network abstraction layer that enables fast, reliable environment provisioning, policy/intent-driven automation, and self-healing, AI-assisted operations across IPv4/IPv6 data centers. You responsibility will also be in contribution to brother IronCore stack (Go/Rust) and your work will directly reduce time-to-provision and change-failure rates, improve auditability/compliance, and deliver consistent, high-performance networking for modern workloads
What you bring:
- 4+ years Go (Rust a plus).
- Kubernetes operators/CRDs expertise: design robust reconcilers and ship to production.
- Linux strength: kernel, containers, virtualization; solid performance/debugging.
- Networking depth: IPv4/IPv6, TCP/UDP/TLS, BGP; routing & security fundamentals.
- SDN & fabric automation: integrate vendor APIs/SDKs (gNMI, REST, gRPC) and model intent/policy.
- Cloud-native delivery: testing, CI/CD, observability (Prometheus); high code quality.
- Behaviors: ownership, clear communication, collaborative mindset
