The Electrical Products (EP) Business of Siemens Industry, Inc. is experiencing market growth and demand, and we continue to invest in our underlying technologies to support this growth. EP is undergoing a digital transformation using Agile, Analytics, Simens GPT/Copilot and Gen AI.

The Business Technology department is seeking a highly motivated Co-Op / Intern to join our team. As the BT Co-Op, you will play a critical role in understand the Siemens Products and its data model, build various ML and Gen AI classification and recommendation models.

You will make impact with the following responsibilities:

  • Learn the Siemens EP Business Technology processes and Tools
  • Learn Power distribution and electrical products basics
  • Learn various capabilities of COMPAS - Configure Price and Quote tool
  • Learn Product configurator and its capabilities
  • Collaborate with Electrical Product SME, Knowledgebase Experts and Data Science Experts
  • Extract and prepare training datasets
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) of the datasets
  • Train various Machine Learning and Gen AI models for classification and recommendations
  • Compare performance of various models and select best performing model
  • Fine tune hyperparameters of the selected models
  • Develop utilities and tools to extract, transform and normalize data
  • Develop simple user interfaces to interact with various ML and Gen AI models

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Current student or recent graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication or Similar area of study.
  • Proficient with Python, Scikit-learn, Panda
  • Prior experience in Machine Learning and/or Gen AI models
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Technical Skills: Proven ability to learn new technologies and processes in a short timeframe
  • Problem-Solving: Aptitude for problem analysis and resolution.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure culture
  • Enthusiastic and eager to take responsibility and initiative
  • Previous experience with:
    • Python, Java Script, HTML
    • Database – MS SQL, MongoDB
    • Angular, Node JS, Spring Boot
    • VS Code, Git, Bitbucket, Jupyter Notebook, Postman, Bruno
    • AWS, Google Cloud and/or Microsoft Azure

The pay range for this position is $39,760 - $68,160 . The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
