What you will do for Siemens Smart Infrastructure Buildings (SI B):

As a System Tester / Quality Assurance team member you will contribute to the next generation of Building Automation system with modern and scalable test solutions. You will work with agile teams of engineers, product owners, and software developers to deliver high-quality, secure, and reliable solutions that make developing applications and extending the services of our offerings first-class experience for customers, other developers, and solution providers.

Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in agile ceremonies (planning and refinement) to raise issues that may impact product quality.

• Participate in the development workflow.

• Participate in the definition of quality processes, as well as ensuring that the process is being followed by the teams.

• Define scenarios for test automation, identifying levels / types / categories of tests required, as well as defining responsibility for their execution.

• Automate, configure and maintain functional test scenarios and environment.

• Execution of manual tests and developing test automation, as well as running tests in a pipeline (continuous integration) and for releases/service release packages / changes.

• Provide visibility to the Product Management on project quality through test indicators.

• Writing and following bugs until they get fixed.

• Provide support to the development team in matters of product quality.

• Collaborate with other quality assurance colleagues, software developers and product owners to understand the requirements and improve the product quality and test strategy.

• Evaluation of and contribution to Open and Inner Source components with an «open mindset» and following the «upstream first» principle.

• Contribute to a healthy and collaborative team spirit within the large, interdisciplinary product teams based in United States and Switzerland as well as other Siemens locations worldwide.

Requirements:

• Bachelor´s or master´s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or software engineering.

• At least five years’ experience with manual, exploratory, and end-to-end.

• Experience with programming languages, protocols and technologies related to Cloud computing, Edge and IoT automation (*AWS, Playwright, containers Docker/Podman, MQTT, *BACnet, *KNX, CoAP, HTTP, Modbus, Websocket, C++ v17+, Python, JavaScript, VSCode, …).

• Experience in test automation (GUI, API, E2E) in product and integration test, including CI/CD pipelines for embedded devices and version control (Linux, Git, Gitlab, DevOps, CMake, GitLab Runner, *Lava, …).

• Experience with *TDD / BDD

• Familiarity with test and development processes of agile software development projects: Scrum.

• You are a proactive, motivated, and committed person with excellent team working skills.

• Solid understanding of Edge/Cloud Software Architecture and Distributed Systems including Microservices and container technologies.

• Proactive and motivated personality with excellent communication skills, able to collaborate across different disciplines as well as with other locations around the globe.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills in English are mandatory.

• Readiness to take over ownership of topics and extended roles (e.g. Scrum Master, Product Owner, …)

• Debugging and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to create clear and concise documentation (OpenAPI, Markdown).

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Working knowledge of agile methodology, techniques, and frameworks, such as Scrum / SAFe or Kanban.
