We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer. This position will be based onsite at our Buffalo Grove, IL location.

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring a robust and effective supply chain aligned around zero defects’ concepts. Integral to this is improving supplier quality, on-time delivery, and cost performance through development activities.


You’ll make an impact by:

  • Leading on-site quality audits and gap analyses at suppliers to ensure compliance with Siemens Building Technologies requirements, VDA6.3, and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Drive supplier development through Pareto analysis, 8D, Continuous Improvement, and tools like FMEA, PPAP, and APQP.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis to address non-conformance, ensure supply continuity, and improve processes.
  • Improve supply chain metrics (Supplier PPM, Claim Rate, NCC reduction, scrap) and standardize manufacturing processes to reduce waste.
  • Monitor supplier performance, manage ISO procedures and engineering changes, and implement cost-reduction strategies to improve supplier relationships and performance.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management or relevant field
  • 5+ years in a Supplier Quality Engineer role.
  • Proficient in gauge R&R studies, control plans, SPC methods, machining, assembly, gauging, and CPK analysis in manufacturing.
  • Skilled in EMS processes, product assembly, inspection techniques, and functional measuring equipment, with a strong understanding of product and manufacturing processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of PPAP, APQP, AIAG core tools (SPC, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA), engineering drawings, tolerances, standards, and specifications.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Six Sigma Green or Black belt preferred.
  • Technical knowledge and hand-on experience using various measurements equipment (CMM, OGP, Comparator etc) preferable.

  • The pay range for this position is $80,920 - $138,720. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
