What will you do?
• Develop and implement strategies for allocated procurement and material field responsibilities by implementation of procurement engineering projects
• Analyze purchasing volume, execute technical optimization projects and realize design-to-cost measures with suppliers
• Evaluate the technical and organizational possibilities to optimize the production capacity by integration of supplier innovations
• Provide transparency in cost calculations, degree of implementaion and detailed schedules for all purchasing part development projects
• Report status of projects and activities directly to the factory management level
• Plan and monitor all development projects for purchasing parts in relation to time, costs, technical release status, first samples delivery and serial production
• Regularly screen the regional and global markets to identify new alternative sourcing opportunities with focus on North America
• Identification of weeknesses in our supply chain in cooperation with strategic buyers and derive improvement measures to achieve target costs and a sustainable supply chain without material availability interruptions
What will you need to succeed?
• Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, International Business or comparable)
• Specific knowledge in the supply chain management and strategic procurement with focus on sourcing of material parts according to technical drawings
• Knowledge in sourcing models, supplier logistic agreements, supplier quality and contract management
• Profound technical knowledge in the development of material parts with focus on improvements and innovation sharing with suppliers
• Basic knowledge in supplier negotiations, strategic thinking and strong problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in MS Office Applications and SAP MM Modules
• Fluent English and Spanish
As one of the procurement engineers in our strategic procurement department you should be able to work in a team, communicate with all team members and be open for any idea that bring us to the next level.
You should also have a very good commercial and technical understanding, a high level of flexibility and commitment, ideally combined with intercultural experience.
