The Electrical Products (EP) Business Unit offers a full range of low-voltage power distribution and control products that deliver safe, reliable, and efficient electrical solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial markets.

We are looking for a hands-on and technically driven Automation & Digitalization Engineer to lead smart manufacturing initiatives focused on connectivity, automation, and system integration. This role will play a critical part in improving OEE, implementing MES systems, automating material movement, and enabling real-time data collection through advanced programming and machine integration. The ideal candidate brings strong controls and software development experience and is passionate about driving digital transformation on the shop floor.
You’ll make an impact by having the following minimum qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial automation and manufacturing systems integration.
- Strong programming skills in PLC (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMI/SCADA systems, and scripting languages (Python, C#, or similar).
- Solid experience with industrial communication protocols and machine connectivity.
- Familiarity with implementation of MES and integration with shop floor equipment.
- Experience with automation hardware such as AMRs/AGVs, smart cameras, and IoT sensors.
- Strong communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and project management abilities.
You’ll make an impact by:
Responsibilities
- Lead and implement automation and digitalization projects, including MES deployment, machine integration, and real-time performance tracking.
- Program, integrate, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, industrial robots, and smart sensors to automate production processes.
- Develop and maintain custom automation scripts and applications using high-level languages (e.g., Python, C#, structured text, ladder logic).
- Connect machines to industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, OPC-UA, MQTT) and ensure secure, reliable data transmission.
- Design and implement AMR/AGV systems, vision inspection solutions, and other Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Support simulation and digital twin modeling for layout, flow, and equipment optimization.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, IT, and engineering teams to ensure seamless deployment and user adoption of digital systems.
- Contribute to the development of dashboards and digital tools; low-code platforms like Mendix may be used where appropriate.
- Ensure cybersecurity and data integrity across all connected systems and devices.
- Provide technical training and troubleshooting support for automation systems.

- The pay for this position is $82,320 - $141,120 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
