A Procurement Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing procurement data, spending patterns, and supplier performance to optimize purchasing decisions and drive cost savings. This role combines analytical, financial, and procurement knowledge to provide data-driven insights that support strategic sourcing decisions and track financial performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze procurement data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for cost savings
- Develop and maintain procurement analytics dashboards and reports
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance metrics
- Conduct spend analysis and create detailed spending reports
- Track and analyze productivity measures and financial KPIs
- Perform cost-benefit analyses for procurement decisions
- Create financial models to forecast procurement spending
- Monitor budget variances and provide explanations for deviations
- Identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement operations
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives with data-driven recommendations
- Validate and maintain data quality in procurement systems
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc financial reports for management
- Assist in process improvement initiatives through data analysis
What will you need to succeed?
- Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Statistics, Economics, or related field
- At least 6 months/1 year of experience in data analysis, preferably in procurement or supply chain
- Proven experience in tracking and analyzing productivity metrics
- Strong proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ERP systems and procurement software is desirable
- Experience with SQL and data management
- Knowledge of programming languages (Python, R)
- Understanding of machine learning and predictive analytics
- Financial skills as a: Budget management and tracking, cost-benefit analysis, financial forecasting, variance analysis, productivity metrics development and monitoring, ROI calculation and anaysis, etc.
