We offer you a flexible and dynamic environment with opportunities to go beyond your comfort zone in order to grow personally and professionally. Sounds interesting?

Then come and join our global team as Gradient Coil and Shim Design Engineer (m/f/d) for MRIs and help shape the future of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technology.

Choose the best place for your work – Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • You develop gradient coils and shim systems in collaboration with experts, based on innovative architectural and integration concepts.
  • You drive the development of digital twins and simulations for gradient coils and shim systems, as well as their interaction with other system components (e.g., magnets).
  • You monitor current technological trends and developments and identify new innovation areas for gradient coils and shim systems in the MRI field.
  • You work independently in a cross-functional, agile team and collaborate closely with the areas of design, project management, system architecture, software and hardware development, and the technical service of the Business Line MRI to jointly shape the MRI platforms of the future.
  • You oversee your components from the initial concept phase through the entire development process to successful series production.
  • You take responsibility for supporting your components within your area and implement continuous improvement measures.
  • You ensure that the agreed-upon deadlines, costs, and quality targets are reliably met in your projects.
  • Depending on your qualifications, you may take on the role of the responsible electrical specialist for the gradient coil and shim team.

  • You have longterm professional experience in the fields of electrodynamics and electromagnetism, such as high-voltage technology, simulation, and computer-aided modeling.
  • Alternatively, you have a PhD combined with several years of professional experience in this area.
  • You possess in-depth knowledge of engineering and EM simulation software packages such as Matlab, Simulink, Mathematica, Maple, NACS, and Ansys.
  • You are enthusiastic about the possibilities of artificial intelligence, machine learning, uncertainty theory, and chaos theory and are eager to apply them in practice.
  • You have strong expertise in electrical and high-frequency measurement technology, including the use of oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
  • You value the combination of practical "hands-on" skills and theoretical knowledge and successfully apply this mix in your work.
  • Relevant knowledge of magnetic resonance imaging is an additional advantage and complements your profile.

Your attributes and skills:

  • You have excellent communication skills and can fluently interact with our national and international colleagues and partners in German and English. Chinese language skills are an additional plus.
  • Analytical skills, organizational talent, a sense of responsibility, and result orientation are your top priorities.
  • You impress in discussions with customers and collaboration partners through professionalism, expertise, and the ability to present complex topics convincingly and tailored to the audience.
  • We win together: Your profile is rounded off by your enthusiasm for agile working methods, your willingness to learn, and your strong team spirit.
  • You enjoy working in an international team and are willing to spend approximately 10% of your time on national and international business trips.
