What will you do?

As Technical Sales Consultant you will drive Siemens specification preference to Consulting Engineers. Develop alternative recommendations for very complex customer specifications and/or processes to meet customer needs and improve over-all productivity.

  • Will work directly with Consulting Engineers, Contractors and End User as well as dealing with multiple factories for various Siemens products and OEM’s.
  • Responsible for business development of the following products, but not limited to: MV/LV Switchgear, Switchboards, Power panels, Breakers, Load centres, EV Chargers, Power Monitoring and Bus Ducts
  • Develop strategic business plans to support market share objectives
  • Drive business development with assigned key accounts
  • Display a high level of critical thinking in bringing a successful resolution to high impact and complex problems
  • Provide marketing advice to ensure overall market effectiveness.
  • Provide advance and comprehensive technical application assistance in key sales situations
  • Participate in and influences standards by participating in appropriate industry organizations
  • Deliver the highest degree of customer satisfaction in alignment with our Siemens brand.
  • Perform on-site bid review meetings and travel to various sites when needed
  • Travel required 50% of the time mainly in Edmonton and Western Regions (Alberta, Manitoba, & Saskatchewan) and could include domestic and international travel

What will you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5 years of experience in a related field of electrical engineering sales
  • Proficiency with CSA (Canadian Standards Association) requirements, CEC (Canadian Electrical Code) and Local Authority Jurisdiction
  • Ability to read Single Line Diagram and perform redline on specifications
  • Experience with custom switchboard and switchgear design
  • Experience with SAP, IQS & other CRM and management information tools
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly motivating personable team player with a Can-Do attitude
  • High standards of performance are expected to align with customer expectations matching our strong Siemens brand
  • Well versed in using MS Office

Desired Skills | Assets:

  • Familiar with medium voltage systems (MVS)
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe and Visio.
