Rate of Pay: The salary range for this position in New York, NY is $114,525 - $123,600 per year and this role may be eligible to earn incentive compensation. Duties: Develop an expert role in commissioning and field service of propulsion system and bogies. Perform schematics and location circuit plans, electrical and mechanical repairs of various components and field modification work with use of mechanical drawings. Diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions, assess the nature of problems, and identify corrective action. Respond to field service calls for all commissioning and warranty issues with the LRV4 (Light Rail Vehicle). Collaborate with Siemens Engineering to drive improvements. Contribute and communicate technical feedback to Engineering to drive optimal reliability and maintainability of the product. Read, interpret and understand written or electronic information, maintain the information, and compile reports, manage commissioning, maintenance and warranty documentation. Develop detailed technical testing plans for upcoming projects and create detailed test reports for system qualification during commissioning process, develop commissioning schedules and track progress against schedule. Identify and drive the purchase of equipment and tooling required for commissioning.
Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 36 months of experience in the job offered or in a Field Service Engineer-related occupation. Position requires experience in the following: Rail vehicle maintenance and reliability requirements; Working with safety documentation standards and requirements for rail vehicle maintenance and repair; Working with Multi Vehicle Bus Systems (MVB), Insulated-Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) and High- and Low-Voltage circuits; Reading mechanical drawings; Reading electrical schematics.
*Client-based onsite position. Relocation may be required as work is performed at various unanticipated client sites.
