We are looking for a Smart Building Specialist CoOp based at our Cincinnati, OH branch, located in Milford, OH.

Program Start Date: August 18th, 25th

What you will do as a Siemens Smart Infrastructure Specialist CoOp:

  • The program involves rotating through various departments at the local branch office, all focusing on smart buildings and sustainable infrastructure.
  • 80% of your time will be spent on specialist (technician) related activities (visiting customer sites, classroom learning, on-the-job training and shadowing, etc.)
  • 10% of your time with be spent with the sales department and learning how we go-to-market and sell our solutions and services
  • 10% of your time will be spent in our projects (solutions) or service departments, focusing on the related tasks needed to deliver world class service to Siemens customers
  • You may get experience rotating through our core business segments, which include HVAC, Fire/Life Safety and Security Systems
  • The goal of the program is to develop future talent for the Siemens organization and help you identify where students are interested in pursuing a career at Siemens post-graduation

Responsibilities working alongside current Specialists and Operations Supervisors:

  • Work alongside experienced technicians to visit customer sites and troubleshoot HVAC, Building Automation, and electronic control systems. Assist in diagnosing issues, performing maintenance and repairs, or supporting new installations and system commissioning.
  • Collaborate with our engineering and project management teams to resolve any discrepancies in system drawings or address challenges encountered on the job.
  • Interface directly with customers: document service activities, help explain system operations, and provide basic training to ensure smooth hand-off. You’ll also have opportunities to recommend upgrades or system enhancements that improve performance and add long-term value for the customer.

To apply for the Program, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Must have a high school diploma or state-recognized GED
  • Education: Student must be currently enrolled in a 2-year Technical College/School pursuing a certificate in HVAC Controls, Building Automation, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Energy/Sustainability, Built Environment or Computer Science
  • Earliest Graduation Date: December 2025
  • Availability: Ability to work 40-hours per week for the duration of the program, estimated through December 19th, 2025.
  • Relocation: Must be willing and able to work at the location on-site and surrounding local area. No relocation or housing stipend is offered for this program
  • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company or school sponsorship. This program does not support students on a Visa such as F1, J1, M1 and H1B as well as OPT/CPT.

Additional Requirements of all applicants for the Specialist CoOp:

  • Ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment; working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions
  • Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet
  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook). Skilled in using Windows laptops and adept at learning new software for programming and troubleshooting automation equipment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English

The hourly pay range for this position is $20 per hour for first time participants, or $22 per hour for returning Interns. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
