Transform the everyday with us
Commissioning Engineers oversee and manage the transfer of completed BAS designs to programmers as well as all stages of control panel prefabrication before field installation to ensure a quality product is provided by our global designers. This role, based in the Beltsville, MD office, involves reviewing engineering designs and designing prefabricated panels according to project plans, specifications, and contract documents. Additionally, the Senior Commissioning Engineer will support Project Managers in scheduling engineering, programming, and graphic deliverables, as well as coordinating material deliveries.
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will:
- Independently lead and manage building automation projects deliverables through the prefabrication process
- Design panel layouts to scale, while ensuring compliance with local codes and ordinances
- Partner with Siemens engineering teams to review design documents, drawings, specifications, building controls system sequences, and equipment submittals
- Review system controls sequences and participate in meetings to clarify and improve them
- Generate pre-functional checklists
- Write system-specific functional performance test scripts from design control sequences.
- Possess thorough knowledge and understanding of building automation systems (BAS) and being able to use and manipulate BAS independently
- Generate and maintain RFI’s with a focus on expediting issues resolution
- Demonstrate exceptional communication skills in all situations by being a proficient writer who can concisely communicate and providing clear, transparent and regular updates on project statuses
- Coordinate engineering, programming, graphic and material deliveries into a master schedule
You will make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or State-Recognized GED
- 3 + years construction project management or engineering experience with mechanical, electrical, and building automation systems, including design, controls systems integration and implementation
- Must be able to demonstrate:
- Hands-on building automation controls commissioning, and equipment start-up and operations
- Experience with Microsoft 365, SAP, and AutoCAD
- Technical competencies related to Building Mechanical, Electrical, and building automation control system operation
- Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or Associate’s degree in Engineering
- PE license

The pay range for this position is $72,310 - $123,960 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
