We are looking for an Automation Engineer. This position will be based at Grand Prairie, TX.
You will make an impact by:
- Support the development and integration of manufacturing systems and processes that enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality. Systems may include robotic cells, material conveyance systems (AMRs), and assembly cells.
- Work with stakeholders to define solution outcomes and drive the solution delivery from requirements planning, vendor alignment, solution testing/acceptance, to final solution deployment.
- Drive continuous improvement activities to increase flow through OT data pipeline from field devices/equipment to central data ecosystem (Node-Red, MQTT, SCADA, MES), enabling factory insights (TEEP, OEE, MTR, etc.).
- Enable automated information flow from central systems (SCADA, MES) to operator interfaces (HMIs), and work with internal/external teams to drive backend integration (ERP, MES, SCADA, WMS, etc.).
- Utilize data analytics tools to assess performance metrics, automate reports, and derive insights for informed decision-making in manufacturing processes (Mendix, Mindsphere, SCADA)
- Identify and resolve issues in shop floor systems, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or combination of related education and experience.
- 2- 4 years experience in a manufacturing environment working with automation and control systems design, validation, and integration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and utilize data for decision-making.
- Strong experience with requirements planning and alignment with solution stakeholders.
- Proficient in PLC programming (Ladder, FB, SCL), and methods for testing, validation, deployment, and maintenance of control programs.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and updating PLC/control programs/schematics from OEM/vendors/site production systems.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient with SQL/Relational DB queries and servers (SQLite, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server).
- Proficient with industrial networking hardware/topologies and related communication protocols (PROFINET, OPC UA, IO-Link, TCP/IP, MQTT).
- Experience with electrical/troubleshooting to safely troubleshoot, maintain, and update devices in control cabinets (NFPA 70E)
- Experience coordinating installation of automation and control systems, including management of skilled trades, coordination or requirements/design changes with engineers/technicians, and alignment with process owners.
- Experience with Node-RED, Java Script, VB.
- Experience with UML/FBD Diagrams to clearly model solution topologies.
- Exposure to Siemens MindSphere, Siemens TIA portal, Siemens Mendix, WinCC, SIMATIC EDGE, Siemens automation/controls hardware, etc.

The pay range for this position is $66,220 - $113,520 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
