Senior Fire/Life Safety Systems Service Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the service and maintenance of commercial fire alarm and sprinkler systems. You will ensure components are inspected, tested, operated, and maintained according to the customer's operational requirements. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also act as a mentor, providing on-the-job training to less experienced technicians, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing within our team. Our Fire/Life Safety Service Technicians’ specialized skills, knowledge surround state/federal regulations, and commitment to proper system functioning play a critical role in safeguarding lives, property, and businesses from the devastating effects of fires.
As a Senior Fire/Life Safety Systems Service Technician, you will:
- Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements.
- Properly document deficiencies/impairments noted during inspections or service work, create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs and follow required process of reporting deficiencies while on-site
- Swiftly respond to, troubleshoot, and complete necessary repairs to maintain system functionality. Report on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material
- Identify code and non-conformance issues, ensuring adherence to required standards
- Quote small repair jobs and provide detailed parts and labor requirements to estimators and sales for large repair projects
- Plan work with Lead Technicians and Supervisors to strategize tasks effectively
- Install, repair, and maintenance of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems, standpipes, backflow preventers, fire hydrants, and fire pumps
- Perform fire sprinkler, fire pump and other water-based equipment inspections and testing
- Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all work performed
- Maintain vehicle stock, tools, and equipment. Follow corporate policies related to vehicle use and care
You will make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems and/or water-based equipment
- Must be able to demonstrate:
- Ability to differentiate types/colors of wire; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
- Ability and willingness to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet
- Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 3 within 12 months
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read/understand design and construction documents
- Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems
- 5+ years of experience with installation and repair of water-based equipment

The pay range for this position is $56,000 - $96,000 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
