Electrification & Automation
The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. We are looking for a Sr Mechanical Engineer. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available.
The Electrification & Automation (EA) Business Unit located near Raleigh, NC is growing steadily. It is seeking highly qualified and energetic candidates for our Low voltage Motor control center engineering team. We pride ourselves on creating a diverse and engaging environment for engineers to quickly develop practical design experience working directly on customer orders.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer’s technical specifications regarding the application of Siemens Motor Control Center (MCC) products along with associated protection and control systems and design appropriate product solutions to meet the customers’ expectations in cost-effective and timely manner.
- Work independently and/or lead a project team to design parts and assemblies for energy management equipment from concept to completed design solution.
- Be a technical project leader taking ownership of the project deliverables.
- Be a critical part of a custom designed to order business focused on unique customer requirements.
- Work directly with the factory manufacturing team addressing any challenges as they produce your designs.
- Help improve our products by working collaboratively to identify design enhancements and then working to integrate them.
- Create Bills of Materials, develop new assemblies in CAD, validate functionality, and release the part/assemblies to production.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in a technical engineering role, at least 1 year working with in a complex made to order manufacturing environment.
- 2 years of experience with 3D CAD software (Preferred Siemens NX) and AutoCAD.
- 5% travel required, optional remote work part time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency working with SAP or similar MRP/ERP systems.
- Proficiency working with complex engineering BOMs “Bill of Materials.”

The pay range for this position is $73,500 - $126,000 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
