Position Title: Field Service Engineer
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/ Week
Summary of Duties: The Field Service Engineer will perform installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up of low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) equipment. Support and troubleshooting, maintenance, training, and consulting. Perform commissioning testing of GM-SG, SDV and SIEBREAK on the side of medium voltage and WL in the side of low voltage. Provide technical assistance during installation and troubleshooting when specific problems occur during operation or testing. Perform FAT’s (factory acceptance testing) which include visual inspection, nameplate inspection, mechanical and electrical interlocking. Work with Siemens’ MCC family, such as SIMOVAC and TIASTAR, including the option with soft starters. Install and integrate new breakers in old cubicles and perform mechanical and electrical modifications in old medium voltage and low voltage switchgear. Perform duties according to OSHA standard..
Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or a related field of study and 3 years of experience in the job offered or as a Field Service Engineer, Field Test Engineer, Electrical Technician, or a related role. The position requires experience with the following: deep knowledge of power transmission and distribution systems; experience with metal clad Switchgear, MV and LV Circuit breakers, vacuum switchgear; vast knowledge with breakers or LV equipment testing, including analyzing test results, managing test equipment, such as Hi Pot, Megger, Dilo; knowledge of equipment condition assessments on medium voltage and low voltage units; vast understanding of interpretation of schematics, control troubleshooting, and mechanical assemblies; mechanical knowledge, control wiring, operational and product functions; solid background and experience working on electrical substations, performing maintenance and outages for large customers; and capable to manage and work with ANSI and IEC standards.
