This Software Engineering Internship will position you to be an integral part of the Siemens engineering team, across a portfolio of products. Participants will have the opportunity to create new products and applications using the latest technologies and applying industry best-practices to drive the growth of Siemens as a Full-Stack Engineer, Back-End Developer, Front-End Developer, Mobile Developer or Project Lead.
We are seeking qualified candidates for our Summer 2026 Smart Building Products Internship Program as a Software Engineering Intern. This role can be based in Chicago, IL or Buffalo Grove, IL.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Working alongside senior software leaders and other program participants to deliver business value on tight deadlines.
- Reporting out regularly to senior business leaders on deliverables
- Partnering with mentors in upper management
- Working on a multi-functional team to create innovative solutions to problems cutting across multiple business segments
- Interacting and partner with other interns and co-ops

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering. Candidates must not graduate prior to September 2026.
- Knowledge of Python/C++/C#/HTML/SCSS/JavaScript/TypeScript or other relevant programming languages
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
- Candidates must be available to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week internship.
- Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Chicago, IL or Buffalo Grove, IL as this role does not provide housing or relocation support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms.
- Leadership skills inside and outside the classroom.
