As part of the PLM Power Automation Solutions (SI EA PLM PA-SOL) team, you will be responsible for definition, implementation and roll-out of engineering optimization activities. This role combines deep technical expertise in the area of protection systems with strategic influence across global teams. It requires strong engineering and project management skills, proven knowledge in high-voltage and medium-voltage protection systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various engineering teams to ensure seamless integration, innovation and efficient use of engineering tools and software across the organization.

You’ll make an impact by
- Serve as a technical representative for Power Automation Solutions within the control and protection portfolio.
- Define, implement and roll-out of engineering optimization activities, leveraging expert understanding and cross-functional collaboration.
- Conduct feasibility studies and ensure the timely, budget-compliant, and high-quality delivery of defined measures, adhering to industry and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate and coordinate effectively with R&D teams, other product line managers, global engineering teams, and relevant stakeholders.
- Lead and support knowledge transfer by developing training materials, conducting workshops, and providing ongoing support and troubleshooting for integrated engineering approaches and selected power automation products.
- Establish metrics to measure effectiveness, drive continuous improvement initiatives, stay updated on new technologies, and foster innovation within global engineering teams.
Your defining qualities
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a comparable technical education.
- Experience & Skills
- Many years of professional experience in power automation, including hands-on experience in the commissioning, troubleshooting and technical project leadership in control and protection projects.
- Profound understanding of HV and MV electrical networks and protection philosophies
- Comprehensive knowledge of IEC standards.
- Proficient in Siemens protection products (SIPROTEC 5, DIGSI 5) and competitor solutions, as well as integrated test systems (e.g., OMICRON Test Equipment with Test Universe) and key communication protocols (IEC61850, Modbus).
- Familiarity with new technologies and modern engineering approaches, such as Process Bus and top-down engineering.
- Ways of working
- Effective collaboration in networks across businesses and functions as well as experience in working in international teams.
- Languages
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, second language, e.g. German, would be a benefit.
