Join our Norwegian Technical Excellence and Engineering organization in Siemens Smart Infrastructure and be a part of our transformative journey in the Electrification and Automation market. With the green transition, the power grids need to increase their capacity, both by building new infrastructure but also by monitor, simulate and thereby being able to operate the grid closer to its limits.
To enable this real time data is needed and new ways of utilizing the automation in the grid. Are you someone who likes to push the boundaries of the PLC logic or code it from scratch? And do you like to refine backend data into smart applications and maybe also develop the application yourself?
Then this is the job for you!
Key Responsibilities:
Automation application development & Implementation: Develop and implement automation solutions for the Norwegian grid. Typical use-cases involve virtualization, self-healing systems, REST API integration, custom PLC logic and edge data analysis.
Sales support: Be part of the sales process by evaluating technical requirements and capabilities in customer meetings and offer generation.
Knowledge sharing: Be part of driving the future of grid automation and the way Siemens implements and delivers solutions.
You’ll win us over by:
Professional experience: Documented results from successfully implementing and delivering automation projects to the power grid industry. Familiar with communication protocols and concepts such as IEC 104, IEC 61850, Modbus, MQTT, PLC logic, self-healing technology, Linux (Debian) and/or Siemens SICAM 8 systems.
Translating ideas and challenges into solutions: Understanding the potential that lies within the automation technology and how that can solve the challenges the operators of the power grid are currently facing. By being curious and solution-oriented the opportunities within this role will be infinite.
Growth Mindset: Constantly seeking out new challenges which help one learn and grow. Openness to new ideas and actively using the knowledge provided both within and outside of Siemens. Also, relevant private initiatives, such as home automation or other interesting projects, are appreciated and emphasized.
We expect you to be fluent in a Scandinavian language and have strong English skills.
You’ll benefit from:
  • Colleges with exceptional technical knowledge and close collaboration with the global product R&D team of Siemens
  • An environment where everyone can bring their whole self and feel a sense of belonging
  • We celebrate the fearlessness to think differently and to break new ground
