Software Developer

We are seeking a highly motivated Software Developer to join our Research team at Siemens Healthineers. In this role, you will work closely with our research colleagues in the US to design, develop, and deploy innovative clinical applications that have a direct impact on patient care and healthcare workflows

Key responsibility:

  • Clinical Application Prototype Development:
  • Design and implement new clinical applications prototype, ensuring scalability, robustness, and usability for research and clinical environments.
  • Collaboration with Global Teams:
  • Work closely with research scientists, software engineers, and product managers located in the US and other global sites to understand clinical requirements and translate them into software solutions.
  • Modular Development:
  • Architect and develop modular software components that can be reused, extended, and integrated into larger systems.
  • Prototyping & Experimentation:
  • Participate in rapid prototyping cycles to test new concepts, evaluate clinical feasibility, and incorporate feedback into iterative development.
  • Research and Development
  • Develop and implement research projects in partnership with academic and clinical collaborators. Share research findings through presentations at scientific conferences, workshops, and seminars, and contribute to collaborative publications and patent filings.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
  • Create detailed design documentation, unit tests, and maintain compliance with Siemens Healthineers quality and regulatory standards for medical software. Adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements. Complete and maintains required quality system records for technical documentation.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python programming, including experience with libraries relevant to image processing and visualization (e.g., NumPy, SimpleITK, PyQt).
  • Proficiency in MeVisLab development platform for medical image processing workflows is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of modular software development principles, design patterns, and version control (Git).
  • Experience with DICOM data handling and medical imaging modalities (PET-CT and SPECT-CT) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies is preferred.
  • Knowledge of C++ is preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills and presentation skills
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor and take ownership

  • Experience working with global team and flexible to work across partner time zones to suit work requirement
  • Medical Imaging and Healthcare domain knowledge is preferred
