Job Opening: Field Service Engineer

Key Responsibilities

· Installation & Setup: Install and configure medical equipment such as Biochemistry analyzers, Immunology analyzers (In-Vitro systems), and other diagnostic instruments at hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities.

· Maintenance & Calibration: Conduct routine preventive maintenance, calibration, and functional testing of medical devices to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with manufacturer and regulatory standards.

· Troubleshooting & Repair: Respond promptly to service calls, diagnose equipment malfunctions, and perform repairs to minimize downtime and maintain continuity of patient care.

· Customer Support: Provide training and technical support to healthcare staff on the proper use and maintenance of equipment. Assist users with basic troubleshooting and operational guidance.

· Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate service records, including details of repairs, inspections, calibrations, and maintenance performed. Ensure all documentation meets regulatory compliance requirements.

· Emergency Service: Deliver on-site emergency support for malfunctioning devices, including urgent troubleshooting and repair. Be available for outstation travel when required.

· Inventory Management: Monitor, manage, and maintain spare parts and tools inventory to support efficient service operations. Ensure availability of critical parts and keep records up to date.

· Field Reporting: Report device performance, recurring issues, and emerging trends to the management team, highlighting areas for improvement.

· Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain positive relationships with healthcare professionals and stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and service excellence.

· Travel: Travel as required to healthcare facilities within the region, with in country and outside country. This may involve local, regional, or overnight trips based on service and training needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (excluding Civil and Mechanical Engineering). Relevant certifications in medical equipment servicing are preferred.

· Technical Knowledge: Strong expertise in medical devices such as Biochemistry, Immunochemistry, and Hematology analyzers, including troubleshooting, calibration, and repair.

· Problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostic and analytical skills with the ability to resolve technical issues effectively.

· Customer Service: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users in a clear, supportive manner.

· Attention to Detail: Ability to strictly follow procedures and documentation standards to ensure regulatory compliance.

· Computer Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, device management software, and general computer applications for reporting and data entry.
