About the Role
The Technical Support Specialist will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing technical resources to support teaching, clinical, research, and administrative operations. This role will configure, deploy, and maintain a range of medical education technologies, providing training and documentation, and offering technical support to a diverse group of end-users. Responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware, software, and system issues, conducting and coordinating software testing, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with internal teams and external vendors. The Technical Support Specialist will effectively diagnose and resolve technical problems and deliver end-user training to ensure that the School of Medicine's technical infrastructure meets its dynamic needs.
The ideal candidate is a creative and adaptable person who brings expertise in experience in customizing learning experiences for Medical Education Technology, expertise in multiple operating systems. They are passionate about delivering solutions and collaborative in their contribution to a growing team and environment. Additionally, this individual will have strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills to ensure tailored support can be provided to learners, faculty, staff, and health partners.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related discipline and four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Good knowledge of multiple operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux) and web-based applications.
- Good knowledge of the deployment of complex third-party packages.
- Excellent understanding of Mac OS and Windows software packaging and installation.
- Excellent in troubleshooting OS/platform and application software (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Experience with Program and Learning Management systems based in Moodle', such as VidaNovaLE.
- Experience configuring, deploying and troubleshooting software across multiple platforms and providing end-user support.
