About the Role
The Intermediate Analyst, Student Services is responsible for the design and creation of statistical modeling, forecasting, data analysis and assessment information to drive rigorous and data-informed strategic planning, decision making, policy development, and business process improvement for Student Services, Faculties and other areas across the institution. The analyst makes expert recommendations and guidance to the Vice-Provost and Associate Vice President, Students and International (VPSI), Student Services leadership, and the Deans and their designates regarding faculty-level enrolment and retention decisions. The position provides critical quantitative and qualitative information analysis and reporting to senior administration at the institution to drive continuous business improvement. The Intermediate Analyst assesses and manages the risk of providing sensitive and protected data to stakeholders for various purposes and has the delegation of authority to ensure that data stewardship and privacy procedures are maintained at all times.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Statistics or a quantitative science and three years of relevant experience in developing statistical and data analysis and survey methodologies, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Excellent knowledge of query and programming languages, and relational databases (e.g. R, Python, SQL, SAS, Stata).
- Excellent knowledge of statistical research methodology and data analysis.
- Excellent technical and functional knowledge of desktop and web-based business intelligence and visual analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlikview).
- Excellent knowledge of enterprise level student information systems and student services business functions (e.g., PeopleSoft, Salesforce).
