About the Role

The Manager, Health Data Research Network is a central operational leader responsible for coordinating activities across HDRN Canada to ensure efficient, collaborative, and compliant network operations. The role aligns processes, partnerships, and projects with governance frameworks and strategic priorities, enabling streamlined access to health data for research. This position supports organizational goals by strengthening national collaboration, improving data access, and advancing inclusive and ethical research practices, including meaningful engagement with Indigenous partners. The Manager will lead key initiatives such as enhancing data access processes, implementing network-wide programs, and driving operational and digital improvements—contributing to the growth, sustainability, and impact of HDRN Canada.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and collaborative leader with strong project management and operational expertise, preferably within health data, and research environments. They possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills, enabling them to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including researchers, government partners, and Indigenous communities. A strong understanding of governance, data privacy, and compliance is essential. The candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a complex, fast-paced environment. They demonstrate critical thinking, sound judgment, and adaptability, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement, and a commitment to advancing inclusive and ethical research practices.

Full Job Description

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in health sciences, Public Policy, Public Administration, and six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

1. Strong project management experience, including planning, executing, and monitoring complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
2. Experience working within health, research, or data-driven environments, with an understanding of data access and analytics requirements
3. Knowledge of governance frameworks, data privacy, and compliance requirements in a multi-jurisdictional context
4. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including Indigenous partners
5. Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive operational efficiency

The pay range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for the position. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the pay range.
