About the Role

The Financial Services Analyst performs a full range of operational and financial analysis activities and is primarily responsible for eliciting, analyzing, validating, specifying, and verifying major gift information, reviewing best processes and functions for gift processing and receipting to optimize the use of technology and improve organizational effectiveness and efficiencies within Donations Processing Services. The role interprets and ensures adherence to CRA's gift acceptance, receipting guidelines for charities and other reporting standards, polices and compliances. The Analyst manages priorities and coordinates the completion of a variety of projects and activities to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's initiatives and goals that support and advance the priorities of the Advancement and Alumni Engagement's strategic plans.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or a relevant discipline and three years of related experience in fundraising, donor relations, development, advancement, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in complex public sector environments, specifically, higher education institutions preferred.

  • Excellent knowledge of CRA rules and regulations related to gifts, receipting, and income tax.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment exercising mature judgment and a high level of diplomacy and discretion.
  • Proven ability to interact effectively and positively with staff, managers and donors and administrators.
