The Team:

The Accounts & Identity team builds highly scalable java based services that safely connects PlayStation users with the social and entertainment experiences they love. Our services provide customers with always-available unified experiences to enrich the PlayStation ecosystem with simplicity, security, and reliability. What you'll be doing:

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will design and develop highly scalable, distributed services, as well as collaborate with product managers, architects , engineers, and operations team members across playstation. This is a fast-paced environment that leverages lightweight SOA design patterns. We encourage innovation and expect developers to take a high level of ownership throughout the software life cycle.

About You:

You are a strong developer with experience and interest in distributed systems, databases, performance and scalability.

What we're looking for:

  • BS or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in developing business critical software using Enterprise Java/J2EE, Web Services, REST, JSON/XML, expert level of object oriented programming analysis and design
  • 2+ years’ experience developing with AWS native services such as EC2, EKS, S3, Kinesis, Glue, Lambda, SQS, SNS and DynamoDB
  • Experience developing applications on Java Services on Linux platforms
  • Experience with servlet containers (e.g., Tomcat, Reactor Netty), JAXRS, Spring, and related technologies
  • Experience developing web services using JSON and XML
  • Prior experience working with Python is a plus
  • Proficient in software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Demonstrated ability to take a project from initial scope out of requirements to launch
  • Possess deep knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as object oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with micro service architecture.
  • Experience creating UML artifacts (e.g., class, sequence, and component diagrams)
  • Experience with AI driven development tools for code review and pipeline management
  • Experience in requirements engineering, describing software product features, and technical designs.
  • Experience with large scale account management systems with high throughput requirements
  • Experience in deploying, operating, and managing services in AWS or other cloud environments.
  • Asynchronous programming, Non-blocking I/O, Event-driven and back pressure handling
  • Experience building high performance, active-active, linearly scalable production services (Enterprise Java/J2EE, or C++, Web Services, REST, SQL/NoSQL data layers)
