--- Leads and coordinates daily clinical research operations within the assigned unit, ensuring adherence to institutional policies, regulatory standards, and clinical trial protocols. Provides supervision and support to nursing staff, assists with recruitment and training, and facilitates communication between departments and stakeholders. Supports staff productivity, data quality, and compliance efforts. Helps resolve conflicts and promotes ongoing education to uphold clinical research nursing standards.
Duties:
- Leads daily clinical research operations within the assigned unit, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and applicable regulations
- Leads and manages clinical research staff, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluation, and setting role expectations
- Monitors the delivery of care to ensure alignment with clinical trial protocols, standards of care, and organizational guidelines
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to support efficient, compliant, and high-quality research operations
- Coordinates communication and collaboration between departments, investigators, and other stakeholders involved in clinical research
- Ensures adherence to regulatory and protocol requirements to support accurate data collection and analysis
- Collaborates with leadership to monitor staff productivity and implement cost-effective staffing strategies
- Participates in strategic planning, policy development, and program-level decision-making within the assigned area
- Serves as a liaison between staff, administration, and physicians to resolve conflicts and address protocol-related issues
- Oversees data reporting processes to support quality assurance and compliance monitoring
- Leads regular staff meetings to encourage communication, address concerns, and provide updates
- Designs and delivers education and training programs to support staff development and maintain clinical research competencies
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Job Requirements
--- Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, AND:
- 7 years of experience working in clinical research, hospital or clinic setting
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept an Associate's Degree in Nursing and 24 months professional (RN) nursing experience for a total of 108 months experience.
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to supervise and mentor staff
- Knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations, patient safety standards, and HIPAA compliance
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Proficient in patient assessment, care planning, and clinical decision-making
- Time management and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced settings
- Capacity to remain calm and effective in high-pressure and emergency situations
- Ability to build rapport and establish trust with patients
Certifications: Registered Nurse Licensure from the State of Oklahoma
